I think that the begining of the book, "Wringer" I think that the main character, Palmer is not respected at all and is being treated very badly. I think his mom and dad is the only two people that actually care about him unlike his friends. Beans, Mutto, and Henry. They are only his fiends because he let them eat cake and ice cream at his birthday party and they also just wanted to play with his soccer ball. They only enjoyed it when he got the treatment.
If I had to choose a character that i could be from the book ,"Wringer" I'd like to be Farquar because he gets the most respect out of all the kids in that town. Also when it's someone's birthday you get punch in their arm as hard as you can.

I think this book "Wringer" is about a kid in the start who gets badly treated and has no friends for him to be with. He has friends except there mean to him too. Beans, Mutto, and Henry, just come for his birthday and eat all the cake and icecream and punch him really hard and go away. Where ever he went he would be teased.
I still don't think it is nice to be mean to someone who gives you icecream and birthday cake and then they punch him go away laughing and I think its very mean! It would be nice to get respect in town but it just not the way he wanted to be treated. Also he can not do anything because there in groups of kids, and he is two weak to face big guys not even close to his height which could be very scary and you would not know what they might do to you next if they bully you all the time. This is a very crazy stituation to me he does not get any respect and he does not ask anyone to help him because he knows they still will be mean to him and bully him and trash him around and pretend to be friends with him which is not very nice. This is a very bad thing for him and he has to also sometimes do his work for him. But when Palmer finds out his neighbor left his pigeon at the railroad station. Aakash Tourani
That's where they catch pigeons for Pigeon Day! Its just very wired and interesting but funny
because its wired they act very nice and then very mean! Later he gets a friend. He finds friendship with Dorothy, the girl across the street. Palmer finds it is hard not to go along with the crowd. Its very very hard to walk into a crowd of people who hate you and make fun of you. When Palmer walked through park, he remembered experiences from past pigeon days. In my oppinion Palmer is too nice to be treated this badly by his friends. They are making him give in to peer preasure. The only person that Palmer should listen to is his mom, She is obviously telling him the right thing to do. Palmer is doing the right thing when he dicides to let go of the pigeon. When Palmer and Dorothy bike all the way out of the city, you notice that she is the only one with him. That is because she is the only real friend that Palmer has. He couldn't even tell the other boys that he had a pigeon or he would get beat up by his so called friends.
